New Conservation Lab

The Challenge: Create a spacious, light-filled conservation lab and library processing center from a low-ceilinged storage mezzanine.

We "carved out" new spaces within the dense existing beam grid – creating new ceiling lighting coffers. We accentuated the columns using natural maple paneling and engaged them as “docking stations” for a multitude of custom-designed, mobile furniture modules and equipment.
