Welcome to AxD gallery
We're calling it 2xl0 at AxD for the year 2010 as we curate 2-artist "pairings" for each of 10 months and host group shows for 2 months, featuring 10 artists each. That's 40 artists for 2xl0!
During 2xl0 it's easy to remember when each show opens.
Every month, on the 2nd Friday, a new exhibition at AxD with a meet-the-artists reception, 5-8pm.
As always we're emphasizing non-representational and abstract contemporary visual arts – in painting, printmaking and photography. But then again, we like to mix it up with sculpture, erotica and shear whimsy from time to time – just to keep it fun!
Other arts are on the move too at AxD as we provide space for performing arts classes, rehearsals and performances, in both our studio and gallery. Weekends tend to be a time to party, as we host private events. In short – there's always something going on at AxD.

During exhibitions, the gallery is open: Wed. through Sat., noon to 6 pm, and by appointment only Sun. through Tues. (See Current and Future shows for exact dates)
AxD gallery is located at 265 S. I0th Street (between Spruce and Locust Streets) in Philadelphia, PA. The street-level gallery is wheelchair accessible and a short distance from Market Street East Station, PATCO, and various bus lines. While on-street parking is limited, there are numerous public garages within three blocks.
The gallery has been awarded:
• 2008 Design Excellence Merit Award from Pennsylvania Chapter of American Institute of Architects;
• 2008 "Pink Penny Award" for Best Place to Appreciate Fringe Art from PGN (Philadelphia Gay News);
• 2007 Design Excellence Honor Award for from Philadelphia Chapter of American Institute of Architects;
• 2007 Readers Choice Award for Best Art Gallery from Philadelphia Citypaper.
