AxD is a contemporary visual arts gallery dedicated to showcasing original works of painters, illustrators, photographers, sculptors and multi media performers who seek to be "of our time".
AxD Gallery has just received the 2008 PGN 'Pink Penny Award' for BEST PLACE TO APPRECIATE FRINGE ART. The Philadelphia Gay News staff wrote in their March 28th announcement: "The curators of Always by Design gallery know that a good number of us like our art to be edgy and provocative. They know that art is at its best when it can function as a trip toy, soft-core porn, hand-to-hand weapon or just a simple conversation piece. The streetfront gallery in Center City Philadelphia is located at 265 South 10th Street (between Locust and Spruce Streets).
During exhibitions AxD is open Wednesdays through Saturdays, noon to 6pm. Special appointments at other times can be requested via email or by phone. The gallery is wheelchair accessible.
