Unbuilt
planning and studies
Not all of our work is undertaken with the expectation of constructed realization. Some projects are feasibility studies, master planning exercises, or initial ideas to facilitate fundraising. Examples of such projects include the master plan for the expansion of Chemical Heritage Foundation headquarters and adaptive re-use of the adjacent Strickland Building. Sometimes through the course of design, the client shifts their objectives causing interesting schemes to be abandoned in favor of subsequent schemes, as in the case of several houses we designed. Finally, some projects are undertaken for exhibitions or competitions, as was the case with the Mondrian studies.
